Playing

How do I play?

Tap PLAY, pick who's playing and where to start, then tap GO!. Use the arrow buttons to run and the jump button to jump. Hold down to roll into a ball; hold down and tap jump to charge up a dash, then let go to zoom off. A keyboard (arrows and space) and game controllers work too.

It's too hard for my little one.

Turn on Easy mode on the title screen: you never run out of lives.

Where are the secrets?

Every stage hides a giant star (it gives you a Star Gem) and a golden robot (bop it for a medal). Try running left at the start, climbing high, and breaking cracked walls.

The Character Studio

How do I put myself in the game?

Tap CHARACTER STUDIO, then "Add a good guy" (or "Add a bad guy"). Choose Face or Whole body, then take a photo or choose a picture. The app finds the person and cuts them out by itself. Save, and your character can be the hero, a friend to rescue, a bad guy or the boss.

Tips for a great whole-body photo

Stand a few steps back so your head and shoes are in the picture, arms a little away from your body, in front of a plain wall with good light. If a dot lands in the wrong place, drag it to the right spot.

The camera doesn't open.

The camera may be switched off for the app. Ask a grown-up to turn it on in Settings > Apps > Speed Heroes > Camera. You can always pick a picture from your photos instead.

Can I move my characters to another device?

Characters are saved on the device you made them on. They're files in the Files app (On My iPhone or On My iPad > Speed Heroes > characters): AirDrop a character's file to your other device and save it into the same folder there.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens on your device and nothing is uploaded. See the Privacy Policy.
